# Keyline FAQ

Common questions about file types, size limits, sharing, supported languages, and
troubleshooting.

## What file types does Keyline support?

Keyline supports PDF files. Upload a PDF and Keyline analyzes it and builds a search index
automatically; see [Getting started](/docs/keyline/getting-started) for the upload flow.

## Is there a file size or page limit?

Yes. Keyline enforces a maximum file size and a maximum page count per upload so
processing stays fast and reliable. If a file exceeds the limit, split it before
uploading or contact your workspace admin about raising the limit.

## Who can see the files I upload?

Uploaded files and their conversations are visible to the members of the library or
workspace you upload into. They are not shared outside that library.

## What languages does Keyline support?

Keyline can read and answer questions in multiple languages, including English and
Japanese. You can ask a question in a different language than the source document.

## Troubleshooting

### My upload seems stuck

Large or image-heavy PDFs take longer to process because Keyline analyzes every page,
including figures and tables. Give it a few minutes; if processing does not complete, try
re-uploading the file.

### Keyline's answer did not match what I expected

Open the citation on the answer to see the exact page it came from. If the citation does
not support the answer, try rephrasing the question to be more specific, for example
naming the exact figure, table, or section you are asking about.
